Detailed rules are still being debated, but here is what we have so far, subject to change at our whim:
We will have a "No Limit Pinball" event on Friday night March 18, 2005.
The Main Bracket Tournament is Saturday March 19, 2005 from 1:00 P.M. until there is a winner.
Mini Tournaments will be held throughout the weekend.
Qualifying is optional for anybody with a PAPA or FSPA league history. Qualifying begins on Friday night, and continues at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday. Anybody coming too late for qualifying will be given a lower seed.
And that's not all!
We are planning another tournament for Sunday:
The Ben Franklin Division, for those who Dare!
This will feature a few of the top players shooting it out for some higher
stakes.
The main event is a one-day competitive pinball tournament, played in two or
three divisions:
A: Wizards Division
B: Journeymen Division
C: Apprentice Division**
** - This will be added if there is sufficient
demand from players with little or no competitive experience.
This year, we plan to seed Players using their previous PAPA and/or FSPA League rankings, with an opportunity to move to a higher seed based on qualifying results.
Cash prizes and trophies for each division.
Entry Fees: $60.00 A Division $20.00 B Division $10.00 C DivisionAll fees go to prize fund as follows:
1st: 50% and a trophy(A minimum of $300 is guaranteed to the A division winner) 2nd: 30% 3rd: 20%Trophies will be funded by coin-drop and donations. Games will be priced at 50 cents per game.
Extra balls will be disabled.
Ball savers will be turned off.
Bang backs and death saves are not allowed.
Format: Head to head; best two out of 3; double elimination.
Each loser from the main bracket will go to a second-chance bracket for another match, with the winner of that bracket going to a final match against the winner of the main bracket.
First, second and third place will be decided by the double elimination.
We expect to have between 8 and 12 machines, depending on participation.
We hope to have one game with a T.O.P.S. tournament running just for the weekend.
Other games to be determined as needed based on participation.
We are looking for a few kind game-owners to help us out here.
